I wanted to share this guest post with you all because it is so much fun! As soon as Destiny shared this Valentine’s Day Waffle recipe with me, I had to try them. I’ve never been much of a breakfast person, but Jesse and Sutton are literally breakfast addicts, and they especially love sweets in the morning. This was the perfect meal to make for them and, let me tell you, they are as delicious and fluffy as they look! We cut ours out with heart-shaped cookie cutters and they were so cute! I hope you enjoy these sweet, homemade waffles as much as we did!

“I’m not going to lie to you, Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite days of the year. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved this holiday. I used to get so excited in elementary school about decorating my little brown bag with hearts, glitter, and all things pink. I would spend as much time as I could at Target looking for the perfect Valentine’s cards to give to my friends at school. And when the day came, we would walk around and excitedly place our cards in our friend’s decorated little brown bags while enjoying chocolate cupcakes with pink frosting.
All these years later and Valentine’s day still brings out the romantic girly girl in me. I love all things that come with this holiday: the sweets, the hearts, the romantic comedies (no matter how cheesy!). I am a sucker for all things romantic.
Now that I am married, V-Day is that much more exciting for me. I love celebrating the love my husband and I have for each other. And now, with the holiday right around the corner, I want every sweet treat to be themed for the occasion.
I am extra excited about this post because my husband is making a guest appearance. We wanted to create an easy, fun, and romantic recipe for all you lovebirds and families out there! A little secret: My husband, Benjamin, makes the best breakfast. EVER. So it was really perfect that I pulled him in on this recipe.
I enjoy surprising my hubby with breakfast in bed on occasion, but we also have so much fun cooking in the kitchen together! We wanted to keep these waffles simple, but we also wanted to make them extra sweet and pretty so we added lots of dark chocolate, fresh raspberries, and powdered sugar.”
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
¼ cup sugar
1 ½ cup milk
1/3 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup fresh raspberries
1 cup dark chocolate morsels
1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
2. In a separate larger bowl, add melted butter, sugar, and vanilla.
3. Mix until fluffy. Add eggs and mix until everything is well combined.
4. Add milk.
5. Slowly add in dry ingredients, and mix until there are no lumps in the batter.
6. Turn your waffle maker on, and as it heats, melt the dark chocolate in the microwave.
7. Once waffle maker is hot, add an even layer of batter. Drizzle the chocolate over the batter and follow your waffle maker’s cooking instructions.
8. Repeat until all the batter is gone.
9. Top waffles with dark chocolate morsels, raspberries and powdered sugar.
Does it get any better?!
I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful and happy Valentine’s Day!
