As many of you know, I hosted the first Sparrows + Lily Vendor Marketplace a couple of years ago! In this post, I have listed each and every vendor who attended and sold their gorgeous products at the market. Christmas is right around the corner (yay!) and every item listed is incredibly unique and beautiful.

I would be so thankful if you would support these wonderful business owners and their small businesses as you think about purchasing gifts for yourself or for your loved ones!

Please keep in mind that many of these vendors are very small businesses and may not have websites or business pages set up yet.

Please take the time to send a Direct Message via Facebook or Instagram – or contact me for more information and I will be happy to help you get in touch with them!

Happy shopping, sweet friends!

I also want to say thank you to Des & Dave Photography for capturing these photos for us at the event! They were a wonderful reminder to me that, in spite of the weather and rain, people showed up and loved on one another in such a beautiful way! (And a special thanks to my amazing husband for being so supportive and encouraging from day one of planning this event!)

I planned this market with the goal of creating community and reminding each and every person that they are important and that their gifts are equally important. Unfortunately, it didn’t all happen as planned. On the day of, we had 30 vendors, three delicious food trucks and scheduled Sunset Yoga, a Movie in the Park and free cotton candy and popcorn!

One of my sweet friends and I spent over five hours together making cotton candy cones and I know that each of the vendors put in the same amount of time (if not more) into making their items. Unfortunately, that cotton candy never got passed out and the event was completely rained out after only a couple of hours.

I wrote a post on my Instagram and Facebook explaining how I felt about it the next morning; I was completely defeated and discouraged. But in the past week, God has encouraged my heart immensely and I have grown in my thankfulness and gratitude for what happened that day.

Through this situation, God has taught me two things:

1. My expectations are not the same as God’s expectations. He called me to host this marketplace. I have never had a desire to do anything like this and the first time I felt Him putting it on my heart, I completely ignored it. But it continued to come up again and again in my mind and I knew that I needed to listen to His calling. And through what I considered a ‘failure’, I learned that He never called me to perfection in this venture, He just simply called me to do it.

My perfectionistic tendencies and prideful mindset led me to believe that I failed and was a disappointment to every person there. I still struggle with feeling that way, if I’m honest.

But He reminded me that His calling was to bring community together, and that is exactly what happened! Vendors and guests made connections with individuals they may have never met otherwise, people came and hung out in the rain simply to be a part of something new & they encouraged & supported one another. It was real, tangible and loving community.

2. I saw the grace of God through my community. I would be lying if I said that tears didn’t flow at the end of the night. I truly felt very positive about it, even in the midst of the storm, but at the end I began to believe the lies that we failed and that it was all a huge mistake. I struggle often with failure and feeling as if God is disappointed in me – and in the same way, I felt that everyone who attended was disappointed in me.

But just as I was arriving home, I received countless phone calls, text messages and visits from vendors, friends and family alike that blessed my heart. They were full of grace, full of understanding, full of optimism and they reminded me that He was the reason and purpose behind it all.

And for these reasons, and many more, I would love, love, love for you to support the beautiful businesses that each and every one of these amazing people have built.

I have listed above all of the incredible vendors along with their products and links to their contact info!

With Grace,

Lindsey
